SilkRoad

download here

Love them or hate them, massive multiplayer online role playing games (MMORPGs) usually have this geeky aura of being extraordinarily difficult adventures, only intended for role-play lovers and heavy videogame players. If you share this idea, you should give a try to this game. SilkRoad Online is a good option to begin in MMORPGs, if you ever feel an interest in it. The suitability of SilkRoad as an introduction for online role-playing games is due mainly to two facts: one, it’s absolutely free; and two, it’s really a very good RPG –that is, for a free RPG. So SilkRoad's a perfect choice for casual players who prefer not to get too involved, nor have to pay a monthly fee for playing. However, if there’s something you’ll need to play SilkRoad it’s patience. Loads of it. First, you’ll have to wait for the file to download, then for the EXE to be patched with the latest releases. After that, you may find yourself waiting to enter the over-populated servers and play. In fact, these issues were the main complaint of SilkRoad players, although now seems that the problem has been solved. At least, we didn't have to wait nor had lag problems during our tests. Once you’re logged into SilkRoad, you start by creating your character. You can have up to three different characters and can customize them by choosing their physical aspect, clothes and weapons. When you’re ready to go, let the adventure begins! You’re free to move around SilkRoad's fantastic universe set in the ancient era of the Chinese Silk trading route and inhabited by players from all over the world. Use the map (M) and make your way through cities and landscapes, either killing enemies or accepting quests. Both will give you experience, which you need to level up your character. As you reach SilkRoad's higher levels, you will be able to improve your skills in weapons, force and magic. Also, after level 20 you’ll have three professions to choose from: merchant, hunter or thief. As a multiplayer game, there is also a heavy social side to SilkRoad. You can actually chat to other people and exchange mail messages with them, or join a guild in order to complete high-level quests which otherwise would be too difficult. However, most players end up spending their whole time in SilkRoad grinding (that is, just killing monsters) as it is the easiest way to gain experience. Concerning graphics, SilkRoad offers high-quality characters and scenarios, especially if we bear in mind that this is a completely free game. They’re not the best graphics in the RPG world, but good enough to ensure a realistic gaming experience. Its music is even better: a classical-style background soundtrack that adds to the atmosphere of adventure. To sum up, we could go back to the words we said at the beginning: SilkRoad Online is a good introductory game for beginners. But if you’re already a serious role fan and you’re looking for a really high quality MMORPG, I would suggest joining me –and seven million other people- in World of Warcraft.

World of Tanks

download here

World of Tanks is a massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG). Buy and collect and develop tanks, then take them into battles in European environments. Capture the tank The basic game is a capture the flag battle, between two teams of tanks. World of Tanks has six classes of tank, from Light to Heavy and Destroyer tanks from the USSR, Germany and the USA. Taking part in battles earns you experience, which you can spend on research to improve your tanks and get new ones. Short, addictive battles When you enter a battle, there will be a range of tanks on the field. A World of Tanks game lasts 15 minutes, unless one side wins before that. Your game will last as long as you survive - there is no re-spawning in World of Tanks. If your tank is destroyed, you can leave the game and enter another with a different tank. You will still gain experience points. This helps to alleviate the frustration that new players will experience when being blown up by bigger, more experienced tanks! Serious game World of Tanks is a great idea, and for the most part it's done very well. However, the game is very dry and serious, and the interface is quite intimidating to begin with. Battles are fun, but playing against much stronger players can be annoying. Conclusion With some time investment, World of Tanks can be a lot of fun. We hope that before the final release the game is made more accessible to newcomers What's new -Enhanced graphics for maps, objects and vehicles with HD textures -New game mode: historical battles

Diablo III

download here

Diablo III is an action role playing game set in the dark fantasy world of Sanctuary. Humanity is threatened by the armies from Hell once again, and it is up to you to and up to three other heroes to save the world! With Diablo III, we feel that Blizzard has made something that will please fans and newcomers alike. Diablo fans will be right at home from the start, with familiar controls and gameplay, while it is an extremely easy game to get into too. Atmospheric Diablo III's graphical style is what you would expect from Blizzard, with well defined cartoon-like graphics that are full of detail. It's very atmospheric, and the environment looks great, with some nice touches like crows flying up out of trees as you pass. Diablo III does a great job of evoking a dark fantasy land without being so dark you can't see properly. Menus are all well designed and each of the five player classes look really good. Gameplay Once you've created your Diablo III Hero, from the usual character classes, you are dropped right into New Tristram, a town that has just suffered a meteor strike that has resulted in the dead rising and attacking. This sets you up on a mission to find Deckhard Cain, who is trapped in the Cathedral. The action role playing gameplay is really compelling, and developing your heroes powers and ablities as you get experience is satisfying. One common criticism of Diablo's hack and slash gameplay is that it is a mouse click-a-thon. That has not changed, and you'll either love it or loath it. Multiplayer You can make your Diablo III game public, which means other players online will be able to drop into your game and join in with your quest. It's easy to do, and playing in teams feels natural when you're facing hordes of hell beasts! We have yet to play the player versus player mode. Conclusion These are our first impressions of Diablo III - we'll update soon with more detailed impressions and a final Softonic rating.

South Park: the Stick of Truth

download here

All hail the Stick of Truth, and all hail this game - the greatest South Park game ever created! It must be said that competition wasn't especially fierce, the cartoon from Trey Parker and Matt Stone hasn't exactly been inundated with anything other than mediocre titles. But we did expect this to be a success from Obsidian Entertainment (the developers behind Fallout New Vegas and Star Wars: KOTOR II), and we were not disappointed! Become the new South Park character Developed as an open world role playing game, the Stick of Truth offers you the chance to immerse yourself completely in the small town of South Park, Colorado. You play the "newbie" (a kid who's just arrived in town and is affectionately nicknamed "Douchebag" by the main character Cartman), whose appearance and class can be customized (choose between warrior, mage, thief, and Jew). Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is that you'll fight tooth and nail to get the "Stick of Truth," a legendary artifact upon which the fate of humanity depends. All this is carried out under the orders of King-mage Cartman and your faithful allies Stan, Kenny, Butters, among other characters. Fans of the series will be immediately familiar with the plot and the game world and will cackle with glee from the first moment. For others, be warned: South Park is vulgar, provocative, sometimes insulting, and relies heavily on toilet humor. It's best to avoid this game if that sort of humor is too much for you! Beyond the storyline, South Park: The Stick of Truth is above all a great role game masterfully developed by Obsidian entertainment. The hilarious and absurd dialog are coupled with the exploration of South Park (harboring many surprises and hidden quests) and a well-developed combat system that doesn't hesitate to be innovative. An excellent combat system but handling on PC could be better Embodying up to two characters at once from the protagonists of the series, you battle your opponents (elves, tramps, Mongol hordes...) in turn-based combat sequences reminiscent of Japanese RPGs like Final Fantasy or Pokemon. Stick of Truth, however, doesn't stop there - it offers a big difference in its combat system: the more orders you give from one turn to the next, you have to press certain buttons while using your skills to increase the power (like in the Paper Mario series). An attack that requires great timing can multiply the strength of fighting to make for sometimes intense and exciting moments. However, it's a real pity that the publisher hasn't provided more difficulty modes: even after increasing the difficulty, players familiar with RPGs will not really struggle to overcome even the toughest of enemies. The shortcomings of the PC version of Stick of Truth are more disturbing. From the first moment, it's clear that South Park was primarily developed for game consoles, and offers unsatisfactory controls for PC. We tended to get the two action buttons (one for using your weapon, the other to act on your environment) confused quickly, and we spent our time squeezing one or the other at random. The menus and inventory are also impractical, and we highly recommend you play with a controller for maximum comfort. Note however that the developers did have the good idea to incorporate a fart button, which allows you to happily break wind at any time you like, resulting in some surprising and often hilarious results! A brilliant, landmark achievement All those who had the opportunity to try out South Park: The Stick of Truth quickly came to the same conclusion: the feeling of being in the cartoon is incredible. Graphics replicate the series with unfailing fidelity: where previous South Park games tried in vain to recreate the world of the series in 3D, Stick of Truth manages to completely recreate the paper-based characters and backgrounds from the cartoon. The result is breathtaking, and it also doubles as a peerless sound production! The dubbing is all done by the actors from the original series, with numerous lines of dialog that help give the impression of living in a gigantic episode from the series. As for the music, this is remarkably well put together??: it blithely creates a pastiche of themes that many geeks will hold dear to their hearts (from Skyrim to Pirates of the Caribbean); it really is a feast for the ears. Finally, note that the huge game map is faithfully transcribed from the town of South Park (even offering a foray into Canada!). All the locations from the series are present, as well as the characters. The attention to detail is pushed, even if (regrettably) the image refresh rate is limited (capped at 30 frames per second in order to adapt to the television screens of game consoles) and the invisible walls that dot the town of South Park do force you to take certain pre-determined paths. An unfortunate detail for an "open world" game, which (apart from this) offers a great feeling of freedom. Excellent RPG or ultimate South Park game? The attraction of this South Park depends, in part, on your opinion of the series. If you can't stand the orgy of vulgar, provocative gags, then it's most advisable that you leave this game on the shelf. If the series leaves you indifferent but you love a good RPG, Stick of Truth will have enough to charm you with its many features. And if, finally, you're an avid fan of the series, then why are you still reading this review? Don't waste another minute - click the "download" button and start your adventure in this brilliant adaptation of a legendary cartoon.

The battle scenes are also pretty memorable in Metin2, as you take on warriors from other empires in your quest for dominance of the continent. You can switch between a mix of martial arts from what seems like kung fu to taikwando and karate. If you like kung-fu and martial arts games, then you'll love Metin2 - great graphics and a great soundtrack mix to make it an involving online multiplayer experience.

Pokemon: Revolution

download here

Pokemon: Revolution is a Windows game that has you trying to "catch them all". Pokémon is a widely popular card game and television show that was created in Japan back in 1996. True to its popular nature, many video and PC games have been created using imagery and back story from the original franchise. Pokemon: Revolution is one of them. In Pokemon: Revolution, the user plays a Pokémon trainer. Your goal is to collect Pokémon of various shapes, sizes and danger levels so you can train them for battle. Along the way, you might meet other trainers, a Pokémon master who's incredibly adept at training or even foes you need to do battle with. In addition, you can have basic conversations or receive instructions from other NPCs (non-played characters) in the game. Pokemon: Revolution can be fun to play for a little while, but its graphics are quite basic and blocky. It's easy enough to maneuver your character, but there aren't really any features that make it stand out from other games of its kind. Diehard fans will likely want to give Pokemon: Revolution a try.

World of Warcraft

download here

World of Warcaft is not just a game. It's a huge online role-playing game enjoyed by millions of people worldwide. The story of World of Warcraft began in 1994 with the launch of Warcraft: Orcs & Humans, a real-time strategy adventure. Ten years and a few sequels later the series took the leap onto the online world with World of Warcraft, which has nowadays become the world's leading MMORPG. Being a subscription-based and online-only title, the first thing you must do after installing World of Warcraft is to open a Battle. net account and activate it with your credit card. Then launch the game, enter your username and password on the welcome screen and you'll be ready to join the adventure. Your first steps in World of Warcraft obviously include the creation of a character and the selection of the realm (that is, the server) where you're going to play. These are both important choices, as they will define the way you play World of Warcraft. For instance, playing as a warrior, who can withstand the most powerful attacks, is certainly not the same as playing as a priest, who specializes in healing other players. Also, if you choose a PVP server (rather than a PVE one) you must be ready to fight other players as well as computer-controlled monsters. This is just the reflection of the battle between Alliance and Horde, the two warring factions in World of Warcraft. Once your character appears on Azeroth, World of Warcraft's imaginary universe, you're free to move around, explore the land or talk to other players, making use of the game's extensive social component. Your main goal in World of Warcraft is to raise your character from level 1 up to level 70, earning experience points by killing monsters and doing quests which may range from gathering a few flowers to killing a fearsome dragon hidden in its den. The higher the level, the better the game objects (weapons, armor, spells, etc. ) you can use. Eventually you'll be able to buy the most expensive items in World of Warcraft, like a flying mount, and enter the most dangerous raids, some of which can only be successfully finished with a very well organized team of 40 players. If you don't like the levelling race, you can also enjoy other ways of playing World of Warcraft: engage in capture-the-flag competitions between Alliance and Horde in the so called Battlegrounds, earn World of Warcraft money by selling game objects in the Auction House or achieve the Artisan level in whichever profession you choose for your character, like skinning, herbalism, cooking or jewelcrafting. As for graphics, World of Warcraft displays extraordinary landscapes ranging from the snow-covered slopes of Dun Morogh to the jungle-like lands of Strangleton Vale or the desert plains of Tanaris. The atmosphere is enriched by natural sounds and excellent background music. In short, World of Warcraft is a great adventure which can be played in many different ways.

Freight Train Simulator

download here

Freight Train Simulator isn't quite what you would expect. It is not a traditional simulator, as it has simplified controls, and plays more like an arcade game based on trains. Each level of Freight Train Simulator gives you a stretch of track to cover, and a time limit in which to complete it. You have to accelerate and brake to get your Freight Train successfully along the track, and stop at the station at the end. There are four keyboard controls: F and V for accelerate and decelerate, and G and B to increase or decrease the brake. You have to watch your speed round corners, so you don't derail, and make sure to stop in time at the end. There is nothing more to Freight Train Simulator. You can change your view with the mouse as your journey progresses. The graphics in Freight Train Simulator are very basic. The environments are lifeless and uninspiring, while the trains are dull by modern standards. There is no detailed sim style interface, and you are offered only your speed. It is not a simulator visualization of a Freight Train's controls at all. If you derail, you will know you were going too fast, but you won't know how fast to go. Freight Train Simulator is a really basic game, and doesn't deserve to be called a simulator. The only thing Freight Train Simulator has in common with a simulator is that it shares the boring presentation that feature in the worst simulators. Not recommended.
