 FRAPS is a utility for taking screenshots and video of your PC. Run it in the background while you play games, and check the frame rate, make gameplay videos and take screenshots with ease. In the unregistered version of FRAPS you can take 30 seconds of video, with a FRAPS watermark, and take screenshots in BMP format. In the full version there is no video watermark, and screenshots also come in JPG, PNG, and TGA format. To use FRAPS, simply start the app before your game, and when the game starts, you will se a frame rate counter in the corner of the screen, great for benchmarking. Taking screenshots and video is hotkey activated. You can choose to take screenshots one at a time, or repeatedly with a given time gap. For video, you can record with sound, and even with a microphone, so you can create your own walk throughs easily. Video production has the disadvantage of size - 3 minutes of video will be around 3GB, meaning you need a further application to change the format. However, FRAPS is very lightweight and shouldn't effect gameplay quality much. As an all-in-one benchmarking, screenshot and video tool, FRAPS is hard to beat. It is lightweight and easy to use, with enough options to keep most users happy.

The map is simply huge (you will need about an hour and a half to go from one end to the other), and it’s full of meadows, forests and cities filled with dangers. The graphics are amazing, based on the Arma II engine, which still has some serious tricks up its sleeve. The characters, objects and environments are breathtaking; you’ll be amazed more than once. A unique gaming experience DayZ is a deep and realistic game in a devastated environment. The mod will give a second youth to Arma II and is completely free if you own the original game. It's a must for anyone looking for something new.

Origin is the new name for the EA Download Manager, a simple application for downloading and playing games from Electronic Arts. If you prefer to buy digital copies of games instead of going out to the shops, for Electronic Arts games you need to download this application. As well as managing your premium downloads, Origin also initiates decryption of the games, runs the installer and launches it. If a game requires a DRM (digital Rights Management) license, this will be acquired by Origin too. As well as downloading games, this app also keeps you up to date with patches and updates for your games, so you'll always be up to date. It is worth noting you cannot run downloaded games without Origin, as the DRM system requires it to be running. 2011's Battlefield 3 will be released exclusively through Origin on PC. Origin is a perfectly capable download manager, although it is obviously limited to EA games. Time will tell if it competes with Steam or not.
